Erste Begegnung
|---|---|---|
| Bildirme | Subjekt + Verb + … | Ich wohne in Berlin. |
| W-Frage | W-Wort + Verb + Subjekt | Wo wohnst du? |
| Ja/Nein | Verb + Subjekt + … | Wohnst du in Berlin? |
| Olumsuz soruya olumlu yanıt | Doch, + olumlu cümle | Doch, ich habe ein Kind. |
Soru ve cevap
Wer bist du? – Ich bin Ege.
Sen kimsin? – Ben Ege'yim.
Ist das deine Mutter? – Ja, das ist meine Mutter.
Bu senin annen mi? – Evet, bu benim annem.
Du hast kein Kind? – Doch, ich bin 14 Jahre alt.
Çocuğun yok mu? – Var, 14 yaşındayım.
doch, olumsuz varsayımı düzeltir.Sık yapılan hatalar
Bildirme cümlesinde fiili üçüncü sıraya atma: Ich in Berlin wohne değil, Ich wohne in Berlin.
W-sorusunda fiil ile öznenin yerini karıştırma: Wo du wohnst? değil, Wo wohnst du?
Olumsuz soruya yalnızca ja diyerek belirsizlik yaratma; olumlu karşıtlık için doch kullan.
Bu konudan aklında kalsın
Fiil konumunu cümle türü belirler: bildirmede ikinci, W-sorusunda soru kelimesinden sonra, evet-hayır sorusunda ilk sırada.

German word order makes the position of the finite verb especially visible. In a statement it is in second position; in a W-question it follows the question word; in a yes/no question it comes first.
What you will learn
Three clear goals
- 01Understand the central German structure in this topic.
- 02Use the German examples as models for your own sentences.
- 03Apply the pattern accurately in a short real-life context.
Three patterns
Statement: subject + verb · W-question: W-word + verb · yes/no: verb + subjectThe finite verb is the anchor of the sentence. A negative question can be corrected with doch: Doch, ich habe ein Kind.
Questions and answers
Wer bist du? – Ich bin Ege.
Who are you? – I am Ege.
Wo wohnst du?
Where do you live?
Du hast kein Kind? – Doch, ich bin 14 Jahre alt.
You do not have a child? – Actually, I am 14 years old.
Common mistakes
Do not copy English statement order into a German W-question.
Put the finite verb first in a yes/no question.
Use doch to contradict a negative assumption, not as a simple translation of yes.
What to remember
Track the finite verb: second in statements, after the W-word in W-questions, and first in yes/no questions.
German vs English
- German pattern
- German uses verb position to signal sentence type.
- Closest English idea
- English also inverts subject and auxiliary in many questions.
- Key difference
- German inversion applies directly to the finite verb, and doch has no single English equivalent.
Ich lerne Deutsch.
I am learning German.
Kannst du das wiederholen?
Can you repeat that?
