Vermutungen ausdrücken und betonen
Bir bilgi kesin değilse bunu tek bir kelimeyle değil, tahmininin ne kadar güçlü olduğunu göstererek söylemek daha doğaldır. Almancada vielleicht, wahrscheinlich, vermutlich, wohl ve modal fiiller bu görevi farklı tonlarda üstlenir.

Useful patterns
Wie alt ist Burak wohl? – Er ist wohl etwa dreißig.
How old do you think Burak is? – He is probably about thirty.
Das halte ich für unwahrscheinlich.
I consider that unlikely.
Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass sie in Deutschland arbeitet.
I can easily imagine that she works in Germany.
Common mistakes
Vielleicht and wahrscheinlich do not express the same degree of certainty.
Wohl here does not mean the adjective ‘well’.
After dass, put the finite verb at the end: dass er krank ist.
What to remember
Use vielleicht, wahrscheinlich, vermutlich, wohl, or a modal verb to show how sure you are rather than making every guess sound equally certain.
